New Delhi: Mercedes-Benz India recorded total deliveries of 19,007 units between January and December 2025. This is slightly lower than the 19,565 units sold in the previous calendar year. Despite the slight dip in volume, the luxury car company registered its best-ever annual performance in terms of revenue, reflecting the growing contribution of high-value models and the premium range.

Which Mercedes models were the best performers?

The S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach models, and AMG derivatives performed exceptionally well. The top-end portfolio witnessed an 11% year-on-year growth. It accounted for 25% of total sales, demonstrating the sustained demand for the German auto major's flagship luxury products.

The AMG performance division delivered a particularly strong performance in CY2025, registering a 34% year-on-year growth. This growth points to the increasing appetite for high-performance luxury cars in the country, with AMG models, including sedans, SUVs, and the iconic G-Class, attracting performance-oriented customers. Mercedes-Benz's Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) portfolio also maintained its upward trajectory, registering a 12% year-on-year growth. BEVs now account for 20% of all top-end Mercedes-Benz sales in India.

Which segment saw the most growth?

Notably, 70% of the BEVs sold in 2025 were from the top-end segment, priced between ₹1.25 crore and ₹3.1 crore. This lineup includes the EQS SUV, EQS sedan, Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV, and the all-electric G580. Among individual models, the long-wheelbase E-Class continued to dominate. It remained India's most preferred and best-selling luxury car. Strong brand loyalty and a focus on rear-seat luxury ensured that it consistently outperformed its segment competitors. In the electric segment, the EQS SUV was the company's best-selling luxury BEV in the Indian market.

Segment-wise, entry-level luxury, core, and top-end models contributed 13%, 62%, and 25% respectively to the total sales in CY2025. Sedan sales were led by the C-Class, LWB E-Class, S-Class, and Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. SUVs also performed well, driven by the GLA, GLC, GLE, GLS, Mercedes-Maybach GLS, and AMG G63. However, the entry-level luxury portfolio saw a 20% year-on-year decline, reducing its share to 13%.

What are the future plans of Mercedes?

The local production of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS will make India the first market outside the USA to begin local production of this highly sought-after luxury SUV. Mercedes-Benz India has confirmed its plan to launch 12 new products in India this year, including the much-awaited CLA electric sedan, which will come with the new MB.OS operating system. The company also announced the local production of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS at its Pune facility, making India the first market outside the United States to manufacture the popular luxury SUV.
